Community Development - Pallavaram

Thrive, Ghetto! is a community development initiative empowering the Narikuravar community in Pallavaram through education, health, and hygiene awareness. Launched by Volunteer for India and supported by Vizhipom Vidhaipom, it includes tutoring, workshops, and cultural programs. From menstrual hygiene to street plays on social issues, the project sparks lasting impact. Together, we aim to uplift lives and foster community resilience.

Cooking and Food Drive

In the vibrant streets of Tambaram, Pallavaram, Medavakkam, and Madambakam, a quiet revolution has been unfolding every Sunday for the past three years. It begins in the early morning hours, as four dedicated cooking teams gather to prepare a simple yet nourishing meal of vegetable biryani.

Weekly Food Drive

As the morning wears on, a separate team of volunteers takes charge, distributing these precious packets and water bottles to those who need it most - the homeless, the marginalized, and the forgotten. It's a small act of kindness, perhaps, but one that has brought hope and dignity to countless lives, and continues to inspire a growing community of volunteers and supporters.
